Candle Care Guide
First Burn & Burn Time
Allow the wax to melt completely across the surface on the first burn.
Light your candle and let it burn for at least 2-4 hours (or until the entire top surface is melted) during the first use. This prevents tunneling—where the candle burns down the middle, leaving wax on the sides.
Optimal burn time: Burn your candle for 3-4 hours at a time. Never burn for more than 4 hours continuously, as this can overheat the container and damage the wick.
Wick Trimming
Trim your wick to 1/4 inch (6mm) before each burn.
A properly trimmed wick prevents excessive smoking, mushrooming, and uneven burning. Use a wick trimmer or nail clippers to cut the wick straight across. This simple step significantly extends your candle's life and improves its performance.
Why it matters: Long wicks create larger flames that can overheat the candle, cause tunneling, and produce soot.
Storage & Environment
Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Keep your candles at room temperature (60-75°F / 15-24°C). Avoid placing them near windows, heat sources, air conditioning vents, or drafty areas. Direct sunlight can fade the color and affect the scent throw.
Storage tips:
- Keep candles upright in their original containers
- Store in a cool closet or cabinet
- Avoid extreme temperature fluctuations
-
Keep away from pets and children
Safety Tips
- Always prioritize safety when burning candles.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended. Always extinguish before leaving the room or going to sleep.
- Keep away from flammable materials such as curtains, papers, and bedding. Maintain at least 12 inches of clearance.
- Use a candle holder or heat-resistant surface to prevent heat damage to furniture.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
- Do not move a burning candle. Wait until the wax cools before relocating.
- Trim wicks to prevent excessive smoking and potential fire hazards.
- Stop burning when 1/2 inch of wax remains at the bottom to prevent overheating the container.
